We are a lively mixed Border team from Lincoln. Easily spotted in the crowd with our yellow and black faces, black for the border tradition and yellow for the 'Lincolnshire Yellow Belly', a person born within the county
We perform the dances of the Welsh Border tradition in our own wild, exuberant style.
A Very Brief History!
Poacher Morris was formed in 1995 and our name comes from the song 'Lincolnshire Poacher' (please don't ask us to sing it!).
After a confusing start of dancing Cotswold and some Border we decided to concentrate on Border and has since gone on from strength to strength.We now dance throughout the year at local events, morris weekends and major festivals, from wassailing the cider orchards in January to dancing at the World famous Lincoln Christmas Market.
